These Driver Terms supplement the ViaRide Terms and Conditions and apply to anyone who signs up for or uses the ViaRide driver app, operated by Mundo Latino Inc. By signing up as a driver, you accept both documents and acknowledge that you have read the Privacy Policy. If there is a written agreement between you and the Company, that agreement prevails on the matters it specifically addresses.
1. Driver Requirements
- Meet the minimum age and other requirements published by ViaRide and required by applicable law.
- Hold a current driver’s license valid in the state where you drive.
- Use a vehicle that meets the published requirements, with current registration, inspections, and insurance as required by law.
- Complete sign-up in the app, submit the requested documents, and be approved by the Company.
The Company may decline a sign-up that does not meet the requirements or does not pass the applicable checks.
2. Documents and Checks
You agree to provide authentic documents and keep them up to date. Where permitted or required by law, and with your authorization, we may run background and driving-record checks through authorized providers. You must notify us immediately if your license, registration, or insurance expires, is suspended, or changes.
3. Identity Verification
To protect passengers, the app may ask you to confirm your identity, for example with a selfie compared with your reference photo, when that feature is enabled. How that data is handled is described in Section 7 of the Privacy Policy. Your account is personal: you may not let anyone else drive using it.
4. Use of the App and Location
You decide when to go online in the app. While you are online or on a ride, the app uses your device’s location, including in the background, to assign requests, show your position to the passenger, and record the route. Do not manipulate the app, location, or rides, and do not use the app while driving in a way that takes your attention off the road.
5. Conduct and Safety Standards
- Follow traffic laws and drive safely.
- Zero tolerance for alcohol and drugs while using the app.
- Treat all passengers with respect, without discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, age, or any other characteristic protected by law.
- Accept service animals and accommodate passengers with disabilities as required by law.
- Do not carry people who are not part of the assigned ride or request payment outside the Service’s payment methods.
- Keep the vehicle clean, in good repair, and in safe condition.
6. Fares, Fees, and Payouts
Ride fares, the Company’s commissions or service fees, and the method and frequency of payouts are shown in the driver app or in the applicable agreement and may be updated with prior notice. You can review your rides and earnings in the app. If you find an error in a payout, let us know within 30 days.
7. Taxes and Expenses
Unless the law or a written agreement provides otherwise, you are responsible for your vehicle expenses (fuel, maintenance, insurance, unreimbursed tolls, phone, and data) and for reporting and paying any taxes on your earnings. The Company may issue tax forms as required by law.
8. Relationship with the Company
The nature of the relationship between you and the Company is governed by the agreement you enter into with it and by applicable law. These Terms alone do not create an employment, partnership, joint venture, or agency relationship.
9. Insurance, Accidents, and Incidents
You must maintain the vehicle insurance required by law for the type of service you provide. If an accident, safety incident, or damage occurs during a ride, first handle the emergency (call 911 if needed), then report it to support@getviaride.com as soon as possible and cooperate with the investigation.
10. Passenger Data
Passenger information you receive through the app (name, location, destination, phone) may be used only to complete the assigned ride. You may not store, share, or use it to contact passengers for any other purpose.
11. Ratings, Suspension, and Deactivation
Passengers may rate each ride. The Company may suspend or deactivate a driver account if these Terms are breached, requirements are no longer met, ratings are repeatedly low, fraud is detected, or there is a safety risk. Where possible, we will tell you the reason, and you may request a review by emailing support@getviaride.com.
12. Closing Your Account
You can stop driving and delete your account at any time from the app or from the Delete account & data page. Outstanding payouts for completed rides will be settled under the applicable payment terms.
13. Changes and Contact
We may update these Driver Terms; the revised version will be posted with an updated date, and we will notify you in the app or by email if the changes are significant. For any questions: ViaRide — Mundo Latino Inc., Hyattsville, Maryland, United States, support@getviaride.com.
